Technical Specialist I - Designer
Work with Electrical and Mechanical engineers, for the execution, design, fabrication, test, and integration of ground and space based Electrical Harness and Wiring Assembly projects.
What You’ll Do:
Work with cross functional teams within an engineering and manufacturing environment creating and designing harness for aerospace applications.
Work closely with PWB packaging, layout, and harness engineers.
Help to define and implement test and verification methodology for system level compatibility.
Lead resolution of hardware anomalies root cause and corrective action at harness-level.
Work on a mixture of flight and non-flight space applications
Work on projects that include development of electrical harness assemblies for NASA, DoD, and Commercial Space payloads and spacecraft systems.
Utilize design software such as AutoCAD/SolidWorks/Vizio
Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships within all the Ball departments including, the Strategic Business Units, and Strategic Support Units. Interact appropriately with others to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
Perform other duties as necessary.
What You’ll Need:
High School diploma or equivalent and 12 or more years of related experience, or a two-year technical degree with 10 or more years of experience is required.
Each higher-level related degree, i.e., Bachelor’s or Master’s, may substitute for two years of related experience. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
Candidate should be familiar with analog electronic circuit design, electronic systems
Familiar with MIL-STD and IPC specifications.
Experience designing a system of harnesses for spacecraft and payloads
Strong MS Excel background is required.
Requires exceptional verbal and written communication skills, strong presentation skills, and ability to work with internal and external customers.
Good interpersonal skills.
Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, clean room, or production floor.
Travel and local commute between Ball campuses and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.
