Primary Purpose of Position:
Provides support for the quality assurance graphics function as directed.
Implements the administrative duties as related to the graphics department including pre-press development of graphics for all plants.
Responsible for creating and proofing technical illustrations, designs, layouts and electronic files pertaining to can graphics.
Responsible for supervising the activities of production graphics coordinators.
Responsible for implementation of electronic file retrieval and archiving to ensure the accurate setup of artwork which will affect the can flow at all metal beverage plants.
Responsible for artwork development of metal decorating art methods, techniques, pre-press, wet-on-wet applications and scanning.
Works independently and as part of a team, work under extreme deadline pressure and handle multiple assignments.
Performs as a technical advisor for metal decorating, including advice in the setup and issues pertaining to can artwork.
Schedules pre-press production workflow to ensure accurate, on-time delivery to customers and plants.
Ensures proper setup and production of film processor.
Broad training in a related field usually acquired through high school level education or work-related experience
Job related experience for 2-3 years minimum
Working knowledge of the following areas: graphic principles, pre-press practices, nomenclature, and procedures.
Expertise in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat and Freehand and all other software as it pertains to metal decorating.
Must be able to recognize and define problems using investigative process to analyze and evaluate complex information from a number of sources to arrive at conclusions. Must be able to use intuition, logical reasoning, and innovation to solve problems.
Ability to analyze and interpret statistical data in order to make recommendations.
