Job Duties:

Purpose of the Position:

Responsible for managing and delivering planned sales for Ball Aerosol Packaging North America as directed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Works with inside sales representatives, planning, and plant manager to provide long-and short-range sales forecasts. Continually monitors actual performance and required changes.

  • Maintains constant customer contact at main office and plant levels to ensure all aspects of our operations are meeting their requirements. Coordinates information with plant level and main office including: production numbers, specifications, and overall quality and service.

  • Coordinates and monitors can trials and specification changes.

  • Obtains new business and coordinates various support assistance to ensure a smooth start-up and continuance of supply.

  • Obtains and clarifies customers´ specs

  • Determines pricing with team and pay terms

  • Obtains Quality Agreements with potential customers

  • Assures customers pay their invoices within terms. Clarifies methods/systems/ways to get aged AR balances to be paid by customers.

  • Develops understanding of main technical aspects of can manufacturing and aerosol filling.

  • Coordinates the finalization of customer complaints with quality assurance and technical services to ensure a quick response to customer questions and needs.

  • Remains alert to competitive situations and works with management to assess pricing activity and special arrangements, which need revision.

  • Maintains contact with appropriate trade industry organizations.

  • Develops strong relationships with customer base.

  • Provides input to determine priorities when demand exceeds supply.

  • Prepares customer profiles to ensure customer contacts and supply mix are current.

  • Arranges plant tours and introduces key plant personnel to major customer base.

  • Attends MRP meetings at plant to keep abreast of current and future production problems and advises plant of upcoming situations regarding customer requirements.

  • Accesses, inputs, and retrieves information from the computer.

  • Establishes and maintains an employee relations climate of trust and confidence that will promote achievement of plant and company goals.

  • Initiates, reviews, masters, and follows all standard operating procedures (SOP’s) for area of responsibility.

  • Establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department, the division, the group, and the company. Includes ability to handle stress and to interact with others so as to establish and maintain a positive and productive work environment and minimize personal conflicts.

  • Assures and maintains safe and healthful working conditions while enforcing safety rules and regulations.

  • Must follow company policies, procedures, practices, and standards of conflict as outlined in the Ball Corporation manuals.

  • Performs such individual assignments as management may direct.

Professional Requirements:

  • Broad training in a related field usually acquired through high school or college level education or work-related experience. Minimum 3-5 years in Similar Role.

  • Working knowledge of the following areas: Sales and marketing principles, practices, nomenclature, and procedures, generally accepted managerial practices and procedures, production practices, legal practices, business principles and practices, and the personal care/aerosol market.

  • Communication: Ability to communicate effectively, write effectively, read, comprehend, and follow complicated verbal and written instructions.

  • English Language Fluent, Oral and Written, Business Level. Spanish Language Fluent Desired, but Not Required.

  • Must be able to handle sensitive related and proprietary information in a confidential manner.

  • Ability to work independently within parameters set by management.

  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.

  • Must maintain professional competence, ethical integrity, knowledge, and skills.
