Job Duties:

Responsibilities:

  • The Project Delivery team based Network Technical Consultant is the technical lead responsible for implementing network solutions, in alignment with the solution architecture, to meet client needs. Leads, manages, provides estimates and coordinates the initiatives responsible for the technical detailed design and delivery of business network systems and associated enhancements; provides hands-on technical leadership role on projects.

  • Participates as a key individual contributor in the design and development of complex network applications and is the expert in the technology selected.

  • Writes detailed network specifications, derives estimates, and assigns component development tasks to the team.

  • Performs hands-on development, mentors team members, and is accountable for network technical deliverables.

  • Solves complex network problems by taking a broad perspective to identify innovative technical solutions.

  • Responsible for complying with the SDF process. Utilizes end-to-end software development life cycle (SDLC) practices to deliver a quality product.

  • Implementation (e.g., installation, configuration, programming/customization, integration, network migration).

  • Collaborates with other division’s IT leads as well as other stakeholders to determine requirements, systems impact, and align solutions architecture in support of the business’s tactical and strategic plans.

  • Researches emerging technologies and recommends technologies that will increase cost effectiveness, improve flexibility or better support business requirements.

  • Communication. Ability to communicate effectively, write effectively, read, comprehend, and follow complicated verbal and written instructions.

Requirements:

  • Broad training in a related professional field usually acquired through college level education.

  • Masters degree in relevant field preferred.

  • Job related experience for 7+ years minimum. 5+ years of team leadership. 5+ years experience defining complex network solutions with extensive hands-on programming experience.

  • Working knowledge of the following areas:

  • Thorough knowledge of the following technologies, platforms and services: Unified Communications, Wireless, Load balancers, Network Monitoring and Reporting, Video Conferencing, L2 & L3 switching, Routing for LAN, WAN and MAN solutions. Fluent with network protocols, ISO model, packet analysis, CIDR and L2/L3 configurations.

  • Programming, systems detailed design, computer operating systems and utilities, project management, risk management, security, cost management, implementation and start-up of new business processes and computerized systems as it relates to information services, of purchasing, legal contracts, taxes, leases, licenses, accounting, economics, depreciation, capitalization, accruals, ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations), EAR (Export Administration Regulations), auditing (internal and external), insurance, and contract negotiations.

  • Cisco Certification CCNP or higher

  • Knowledge of Network and Telecommunication's cabling (Cat5E, Cat6A, Fiber Optics, etc.) specifications and installation best practices.

  • Exceptional technical expertise in data network technology.

  • Breadth and depth of functional, technical, and process knowledge.

  • Proven project planning and management experience.
