  • Develop and manage a localized strategy / plan to effectively connect our operational strategy with internal customer needs

  • Lead and coach the shared resource manufacturing team

  • Continuously improve and increase process velocity through the application of Lean methods, tools, and principles, utilizing PDCA cycles to convert current conditions to target conditions

  • Identify process obstacles and drive countermeasures that improve flow

  • Maintain a strong focus on human and hardware safety

  • Effectively lead a staff of approximately 15 team members (technicians and machinists) and work collaboratively with other support disciplines (quality engineering, test engineering, M&P, etc.)

  • Develop and maintain a close working relationship with Industrial engineering to leverage capabilities and manage operational capacity

  • Establish and maintain process effectiveness metrics to understand process health while providing baselines for continuous improvement efforts

  • Utilize an internal Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) system to manage equipment and asset risk

  • Manage customer demand and workflows using appropriate Lean techniques (Heijunka, Kanban, ect.)

  • Effectively utilize, create and implement standard operating procedures where necessary

What you’ll need:

  • BS degree in engineering, plus 8 or more years of related experience

  • Experience developing and maintaining strong customer relationships, establishing a deep understanding of their environment, and generating a clear understanding of the challenges they face

  • A general understanding of Lean Manufacturing

  • A creative approach to problem solving and an appetite for experimentation

  • Strong presentation skills

  • A strong focus on the horizontal flow of value across several supporting organizations

  • The ability to clearly define and convey purpose for all team members supporting the value stream

  • Demonstrated experience successfully leading projects and/or teams

  • Demonstrated aptitude for collaboration, recognition of individuals strengths and areas for improvement, and an ability to manage misalignment between individuals and/or groups

  • In addition to the typical educational and experience requirements, a demonstrated capability to adequately perform the essential functions and responsibilities of the position and exhibit the skills and competencies of the grade level should be considered. Each higher-level degree, i.e. master’s degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience
