Primary Purpose of Position:
Manages the joint venture and licensee operations support function as directed.
Directs operations support activities involved with the planning and implementation of productivity improvement and cost reduction programs for joint venture and licensee operations.
Directs and provides guidance for individuals assigned to provide support functions for joint ventures and licensees.
Coordinates joint venture and licensee support activities provided by engineering and development among all other Ball resources.
Investigates, plans, and implements container-related cost improvements in materials usage, operating practices, and equipment utilization to ensure products are cost and quality competitive in the industry.
Prepares and provides technical presentations to customers, potential customers, licensees, joint ventures, and management.
Facilitates and communicates with operations, R&D, project teams, and lab services for materials, metallurgical work, flavor, and new technology transfer for acceptable commercial and manufacturing performance.
Trains, instructs, interacts, and coaches other persons with the objective of building a well-rounded, technically proficient team.
Maintains accurate records of support activities.
Assures accuracy of monthly licensee invoices.
Broad training in a related field usually acquired through college level education or work-related experience
Job related experience for 3 years minimum
Working knowledge of the following areas: metal container and closure manufacturing principles, practices, nomenclature, and procedures; generally accepted managerial practices and procedures; and production management, manufacturing engineering, machinery preventative maintenance, and production cost control principles.
Ability to effectively instruct and train other employees.
Must be able to organize, plan, and prioritize.
Ability to meet deadlines, concentrate, and pay attention to detail.
Ability to analyze and interpret data and make recommendations.
Requires originality and judgment.
Must have strong interpersonal skills.
