Accountant III - Fixed Assets
What You´ll Do
Working knowledge of ASC 842 leasing standard.
Lead position with problem solving skills and ability to train others in JD Edwards.
Familiarity with maintaining asset records in JDE including additions, transfers and retirements of assets.
Month end general ledger reconciliation’s of capital accounts, accumulated depreciation, retirements, depreciation, gain/loss on disposal of assets account, scrap account, and capital interest calculations.
Prepare year end reports for federal, state, and local taxes and SEC 10k financial reporting.
Provide support during internal/external audits of fixed assets and sales/use tax.
Strong analytical skill for preparing quarterly flux schedule for balance sheet accounts.
Creating and maintaining desktop procedures and work instructions.
Assist Accounting Manager with other duties and general accounting functions, as assigned.
Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the SBU/SSU and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
Perform other duties as necessary.
What You´ll Need
BS/BA in a related field plus 4 or more years related experience.
Each higher-level related degree, i.e., Master’s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of related experience. Two years of related experience may be substituted for each year of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
Eight years of experience in fixed assets or accounting
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Must be well organized with the ability to prioritize and manage several tasks simultaneously.
Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
A good working knowledge of accounting systems including fixed assets and accounts payable, plus reporting tools.
Familiarity with sales tax regulations.
Must be willing to work hours demanded during month end and year end cycles, with the appropriate sense of urgency.
Strong analytical skills.
Excellent accounting skills for reconciliations, accruals and daily data analyses with a strong competence in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Must be attentive to department’s needs, have follow-through, be a self-starter and detail-oriented.
Work is performed in an office environment.
Travel and local commute between Ball campuses and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.
