Position overview:

As the Transport Supervisor, you will be responsible for negotiating and contracting all transport services for our FCA inbound flows. You will oversee successful transport and logistic operations to ensure all FCA inbound collections from suppliers in Europe are delivered to our plants. Your goal is to ensure that the correct products are delivered to the required locations within the given time frame, ensuring optimum profitability. You will coordinate with various procurement departments regarding inbound forecasts and actual supply of goods, providing timely and regular feedback on collections and deliveries. The role can be based in Luton, UK, or Belgrade, Serbia.

Key responsibilities include:

Execute and monitor all collections and deliveries according to the plans provided by different Planning Centres. Adapt and reschedule as needed to handle delays effectively.

Maintain open communication with contracted hauliers to stay updated on any delays or issues with deliveries, and take necessary actions to mitigate these challenges.

Act as the main point of contact for suppliers and internal customers regarding delivery delays and potential issues, ensuring seamless communication and problem-solving. Optimize fleet utilization by developing backhaul lanes with all depots/Ball plants.

Create and coordinate key KPI performance reports for internal customers, ensuring transparency and continuous improvement.

Implement Real-Time Visibility functionality within the Transporeon reporting tool to provide accurate and timely updates on inbound locations and estimated ETDs and ETAs.

Ensure all shipping points complete and send loading instructions, meeting safety standards

.Ensure drivers are adequately briefed on their instructions, maintaining high safety and efficiency standards.

Oversee all transport office-related duties, including POD control and scanning, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Check and approve transport invoices issued by trucking companies, maintaining financial accuracy.

Generate and analyse costing and spend reports per trucking company, flow, or specification, contributing to the full cost-to-serve model used by stakeholders.

Explore and implement intermodal/multimodal transport options to ensure capacity meets demand.

Establish and manage the onboarding process for new partners, from test periods to full implementation of agreements.

Evaluate and generate initiatives to improve costs and achieve total cost of ownership (TCO) reduction.

Develop and maintain a weekly dashboard to monitor TCO, supplier performance, and 4PL adherence to the agreed SOPs.

What are we looking for?

Bachelor degree or working experience in Transportation industry either in a shipper, logistics, trucking company or similar.

Knowledge of Drivers Hours, Tachograph, freight regulations on multiple countries, at least in the UK and EU.

Proven strong negotiation skills in logistics field. Good communicator and able to handle stress under difficult situations.

Experience of working in a busy Transport or freight planning office.

Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations in logistics sector.

Fluent in English, German desirable.
