Qualifications:

Ball Aerospace’s National Defense Strategic Business Unit (ND SBU) seeks a senior leader to lead overall strategy, manage Business Development approach, implement Program Management process and tools, establish and guide Program Management staff development plan, lead Proposal Management, and coordinate interactions with Ball’s Strategic Operations support organization. The position reports to the VP & GM of National Defense and is responsible for developing the SBU strategic plan and leading implementation of strategic actions. As a senior leader at the company, this position interacts with all internal organizations and customers, contributes to Ball Aerospace strategic planning, and represents National Defense and Ball Aerospace at aerospace community events.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop, adapt, and direct implementation of the National Defense strategic plan in alignment with Ball Aerospace strategies and objectives

  • Provide guidance of ND Mission Area strategies for sustainable growth in alignment with the ND Strategic Plan.

  • Maintain awareness of all ND business and advise VP & GM of National Defense on strategic requirements, opportunities, and gaps.

  • Oversee and monitor the execution of the strategic plan, assess effectiveness, and adapt for changing circumstances.

  • Align pursuits across Mission Areas to leverage synergies and ensure coordination to avoid duplication of effort.

  • Manage business development tools and processes across the SBU. Assess for effectiveness and implement opportunities for improvement.

  • Coordinate ND SBU internal and external communications with Ball’s Marketing and Communications support organization

  • Provide functional management of staff to include managers in the areas of business development and capture, program management development, proposal management and administrative operations.

  • Contribute as a principal member of the National Defense leadership team.

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within ND, Ball Strategic Support Units, and across the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.

  • Perform other duties as necessary.

What you’ll need:

  • BS/BA in related field plus 15 years or more related experience.

  • Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master’s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills in relevant business environments with strong collaboration skills.

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance.

Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, clean room, or production floor.

  • Travel and local commute between Ball campuses and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.

Successful candidate will have completed a government national security clearance investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. *U.S. Citizenship is Required.
