Ball Aerospace's Albuquerque office, located near Kirtland Air Force Base NM, is a key provider of quick response technology assessments to the Office of the Secretary of Defense, US Air Force, and the Air Force Research Laboratory Space Vehicles directorate. Our multi-discipline staff provides a broad range of engineering and technical services, including technology demonstrations and assessments, laboratory and field experiments, and integrated research and analyses. We are seeking additional qualified engineers and analysts to join our technology assessment oriented organization.

Qualifications:

Software QA Analyst Senior

The purpose of this position is to ensure software quality by developing and managing Coding Standards, managing configuration control, developing and executing tests, and ensuring all customer requirements are met.

What you’ll do:

  • Work closely with Project Management to track requirements, progress, and documentation of software development and other disciplines within certain projects.

  • Participate in Coding Standard creation to meet the customer needs and ensure Coding Standard is being followed.

  • Act as Configuration Manager for software development and ensure all legacy systems are maintained and functional.

  • Utilize bug tracking system to report defects or design flaws to project teams, application owners, subject matter experts, and developers.

  • Analyze software structure and state diagrams against variables to identify corner case scenarios.

  • Create test conditions using manual and automated processes to test software performance and stability in corner case scenarios.

  • Provide potential technical solutions to defects and design flaws.

  • Participate in code reviews and project design reviews.

  • Participate in development and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures, and schedules for completing systems.

  • Review and evaluate test requirements to ensure completeness of test program.

  • Execute on test conditions using manual and automated processes to address change in software, hardware, and database systems in test environment.

  • Review technical documentation to ensure technical accuracy, compliance, and completeness to mitigate risk of all types.

  • Perform maintenance, modification, and debugging of existing automated and manual test procedures.

  • Create software requirements traceability matrix using internal tools to ensure all requirements have test cases and have been validated during testing.

  • Follow documented or established procedures to perform quality assurance activities.

  • Maintain a flexible schedule based on core work hours and business needs.

  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Support Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.

  • Perform other duties as necessary.

What you’ll need:

  • BS in Information Technology or a related technical field plus 8 or more years related experience.

  • Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master’s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.

Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed in an office environment.

  • Travel and local commute between Ball campuses and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.

Security Clearance:

Successful applicant for this position must be eligible to obtain a DoD clearance or government customer access to classified/sensitive material. A current DoD clearance is not required to be eligible for this position, however the successful applicant will be required to obtain a DoD clearance or government customer access within a reasonable time after the offer is extended and must be able to maintain the applicable clearance. *US Citizenship is Required.
